Polycarbonate enclosures provide corrosion-resistant, lightweight protection for electrical and electronic systems in wet, outdoor, and industrial environments. Hammond polycarbonate enclosures are a practical solution when corrosion, weight, and flexibility are concerns.

WHAT IS A POLYCARBONATE ENCLOSURE?

Follow us:

A non-metallic electrical enclosure designed to protect
equipment from:

  • water ingress
  • dust
  • corrosion
  • environmental exposure

Polycarbonate enclosures are commonly used in industrial,
commercial, and outdoor applications where metal enclosures
may corrode or be unnecessarily heavy.

Key Benefits of Polycarbonate Enclosures

  • UL approved and Type 4X (corrosion resistant)
  • Economic alternative to FRP
  • Still great for corrosive environments
  • Most often used indoors where extreme temperatures are a non-issue
  • Ideal for continually wet or salty environments
  • Also useful in solvent- or chemical-laden areas
  • Resistance to dilute acids and bases and fire
  • Good impact resistance
  • Clear cover options
  • Less expensive than some other materials

Where Polycarbonate Enclosures Are Used:

  • Water and wastewater treatment systems
  • Irrigation and pump controls
  • Renewable energy systems (solar and wind)
  • Chemical processing environments
  • Industrial automation and control systems

Use a polycarbonate enclosure when:

  • The environment is wet, humid, or exposed to the elements
  • Corrosion resistance is required
  • Weight and ease of installation are important
  • Visibility into the enclosure is required (clear cover option)

Why Installers Choose Polycarbonate
